Audubon Seeks Monarch Festival Volunteers, Vendors and Supporters
The Audubon Community Nature Center is looking fror help for its annual Monarch Butterfly Festival to be held the last Saturday in August.
The festival transforms the Audubon’s multipurpose room into a garden of flowers and free-flying butterflies and offers nature walks, butterfly programs, crafts, photo ops, and more.
Both the festival and the adults-only Butterflies and Brews the evening before feature the hows and whys of monarch conservation, with tables showing their life cycle and live caterpillars and butterflies that can be held.
Volunteers are needed to take admissions, lend a hand in the Monarch Room, assist people with viewing caterpillars, and other activities. To help, contact Emily Nelson, ACNC volunteer coordinator, at 716-569-2345 or email ENelson@auduboncnc.org.
